Rosies was founded by the Missionary Oblates of Mary Immaculate (e.g. Iona College is one of their schools), initially in response to schoolies week.
Rosies is a community of people sharing the Oblate spirit of daring. Inspired by the gospel, Rosies reaches out to the most abandoned, to be present with them, offering them experiences of community and belonging.
Through our presence Rosies seeks to:
-Foster people’s self-worth and dignity;
-Reach out to people where they are at, accepting them as they are and welcoming them into our community;
-Model a more just, Christian & humane society.

In 2017, Rosies volunteers staffed two recharge zone stations (1 & 3) on the beach.
