Default How a 2hr 2min flight turns into my 9hr ordeal

Arrive Brisbane Airport: 5.15pm
Scheduled departure: 6pm for Sydney
Actual Departure: 7.45pm
Arrive Sydney Airspace... diverted to Canberra after a few laps because of high winds.
Arrive Canberra Airport and land... wait on tarmac for 1 hour while negotiations for late arrival fall through with Sydney Airport, eventually told... exit plane, bus to Sydney.
Wait 1 hour for baggage and departure on bus for Sydney.
Travel time 4 hours plus in bus.
Arrive Sydney airport, half hour wait for my cab...
Drop off sumyoungguy a few suburbs before that I shared the cab with and learn about the 75% rule with sharing cabs.
Get home, go get smokes (ran out at Canberra Airport).
Open bottle of red... chill out, finally, 9+ hours after initial departure time.

Far and away, the funniest part of all this was listening to passengers whinge and bitch and generally not cope, some pretty funny stuff came out of their desperate mouths.

The guy sitting in my row was a complete tool and went on the whole time about smacking people out over it and I was sooooooooooooo tempted to tell him to chill... kindy will be out soon. But didn't, worked out well, his GF got the ****s with his crap and chatted to me and actually turned out to be a cool person, no idea how she ended up with that clown but anyway.

But was really funny, listening to people twice my age freak out and panic / get agro / demand unreasonable things / abuse staff / use logic that was the work of children / ... usual idiocy. WOW I thought, if they can't handle this, no way could they handle something really going wrong in their life. I mean sure get ****ty because the whole thing sucked but the ones who flipped out and couldn't cope, I was just thinking you know... this is so pathetic. I honestly wished they suffered greatly in 2006 to at least get some depth about themselves. That way small stuff like this would not phase them.

Emotional intelligence at an advanced level involves being able to chose your emotions... i.e. work out you are pissed off, decide to continue to be pissed off (or) decide not to be pissed off and win out over the emotion. Not to say people should not be pissed off, you can choose to wallow in your emotions, but if you loose control of yourself because your emotions have overcome you... you loose, no matter what the emotion.

man that sounds so annoying, i hate it when things don't go the way you planned... like i mean in the sence that you put aside maybe 3 hours to get home and it took like 3 or 4 times that amount. like on new years eve i planned to go to my friends party in caboolture after i went to southbank, man i got told to catch this nambour express that stops at caboolture, they changed it from an express to stop all stations, and man did it do that! it took so long to get to caboolture!!! then when i got there i told my friend tht was supposed to pick me up was too drunk so i had to wait for a taxi, my taxi came someone else there pretended they were me, i mean come on with a name like hanim, you'd have to look somehow hanim-ish. but anyway i rang like 1 and a half hours later got told my taxi had been taken so i had to book another one, i decided to share a taxi with some english people and i found out i wasn't going that far from the station anyway and could've walked! anyway got there at like 4, everyone was dead to the world passed out and i fell asleep embarassed to get there so late haha, idiots shold've just walked there to pick me up... ohwell!!!
the thing that **** me is the way people frenzied about getting their taxi, so much that they stole mine. i mean im 17 sitting at a train staiton at 2.30am and they didnt care hey. lol and they're like 50. ohwell, then i asked the security guard if he could like just help me get the next taxi, and he started raving on about being a security guard not a bloody taxi rank organiser, he'll help me if im getting harassed but its not his problem i can't get a taxi, i was like ok then thanks for the bloody help, i'll sit here, not knowing where im going for another bloody 2 hours ay? wheres his paternal instincts?

I was annoyed when my plane got delayed by an hour a few weeks back - Not pissed off ato the stage where I was making unreasonable requests...T'was just annoying that you have to sit on your ass for an extra hour....ESPECIALLY when brisbane airport doesnt have a Maccas!
So yea - I got delayed an hour and wasnt joyous about it...hate to have what happened to you happen to me

It was new year's day. Luckily I wasn't hung over as I partied with my friends the day before new years eve and just had a quiet one on nye. I would have rented a car from Canberra if I could but they were closed.

haha, when i was getting off the plane after hawaii, tehy wouldnt let anyone off because some lady thought she had the bird flu...

it was just a bit of overreaction, the quarentine lady was laughing at the lady...

but they let us off within an hour because it was all clear...

but if she really did have the flu it would be a different matter...

i stand corrected

1)Relating to or characteristic of a father or fatherhood; fatherly.
2)Received or inherited from a father: a paternal trait.
3)Related through one's father: my paternal aunt

lol

security guards aren't supposed to have paternal instincts - conflict of interest.
