Default Songs that have meaning.

What are the songs that have meaning to you and the songs that make you cry i.e emotional songs (not particularly love songs)

I think this will be an interesting topic as people get different things out of music and have different tastes.

ThEsE ArE MiNe:

Yellow Ledbetter - Pearl Jam - (I love the sound of this song)
Time Of Your Life - Green Day - (A song that i will play a many of times @schoolies)
Guns n' Roses - Paradise City - (This is our cruising song)
Landed - Ben Folds - (I also love the sound)
Creed - One Last Breath - (Listen to this song. hella emotional)
Hunters and Collectors - Holy Grail (great karaoke song)
Grinspoon - Chemical Heart - (Another cruise song)
Ben Folds Five - Brick - (Emotional)
Green Day - Closing Time (End of school)

Ummm well these are the ones i can think of off the top of my head,

Pantera- Cemetary gates
Jeff buckley- despite the tears, last goodbye. i cried because his voice was so beautiful, not really because the song was sad
Ben folds- brick and we're still fighting it
Blink 182- Im lost without you
Coldplay- Yellow
Oasis- champagne supernova and wonderwall
Pearl jam- last kiss
The cure- close to me

maybe you should also put why the songs have meaning to you, to make the thread more interesting.

Bon Jovi - Always.. i found out what it really means the day I was with someone special to me, and hardly anyone knows what its really about so its something cool we can share..
Coldplay - Clocks.. not a good meaning, but still a meaning.. reminds me so much of 02/03 grand finals..
Red Hot Chili Peppers - Under The Bridge.. i know a few people who have gone through the whole being addicted to heroin thing just like the lead singer and yeah.. sometimes gets me heaps emotional..
The Beatles - Let It Be.. kinda special to me and mates.. when theres not much us we can do..

Cat Stevens - Father and Son - 'our' song. Not a partner, but one of the most important and infulential people in my life - every time I hear it it just brings back memories of her and how much she has helped me (She doesnt even know...)

From Autumn To Ashes - Short Stories With Tragic Endings - Probably just the mix of what could be considered 'death metal' screaming and mellow slow singing - and the lyrics

Coldplay - The Scientist - Remember hearing this play when a small presentation of Steve Waugh was put together - him being my favouritest sports player and one of my greatest inspirations. (Steve Waugh for prime minister)

Robbie Williams - Angels - Not really for the song or the lyrics - just the memories of good times that it brings back. Fun times with mates slightly tipsy singing at the top of our lungs...life was peachy then

Theres a few others, just cant really think much at the moment (Darned contact sports)

It is an interesting thread, I'd like to see what song other people are 'moved' by and why.
Bump means I posted in it so it would go onto the top of the list and hopefully people notice it and reply here.

Wow when i think about it i got so many songs that remind me of stuff, but a few of my faves:
The Next Episode (Dr. Dre)- Our mainies song, we all pile in cars and go driving round town real slow, real late with the windows down singing. Its this song that will remind me of our joy crew and our hideously fun footy parties etc forever.
Hey Now (Xzibit) - Again a partying and drinking wid mates memory song, me n my best mate always laugh when this one comes on cos theres a line in it that reminds of so much of another good mate ("Baby girl touching my chain"...quite relevant since this particular mate had a girlfriend that kept him on a VERY short leash lol)
Whats the Deal (28 days) -Nothing too spesh just reminds me of summer time yewwww
Thubthumping (Chumbawamba)- One of the best drinkin songs ever, and everyone knows at least part of it, even when theyre pissed! How could this song not make you laugh!?
My Sharona (The Knack)- Sounds like they singin about Corona's, and our crew have so many memories about coronas...with a "twist of lemon in the neck" oh some ppl are so gay and so hillar at the same time!
Drop the Pressure (Mylo)- For 3 days straight one of the guys in our crew did nothin but hype on about how joy this song is..then when the rest of us heard it, it was just so **** that its hillarious, but he insisted on playing it repeatedly and telling us it was good
Alkaholic (Xzibit) Theme song the best new years party ever, reminds me of how much we all drank, and busted out to this song, followed by some of the funniest prank calls ive ever heard...all by about 9.30pm lol

Got heaps more but i've written a book already gotta give someone else a chance to write sth lol!

The Streets - Dry Your Eyes Mate Mike Skinner is a lyrical genius. This song is amazing, I choke up just about everytime I hear it.

Jeff Buckley - Last Goodbye Mother ****er has an awesome voice, this song is beautiful.

Ryan Adams - Come Pick Me Up Just a good song with plenty of meaning.

Julia- Our Lady Peace (Piano Version):
This song reminds me of a friend who made some bad decisions in life. Fantastic song.

Everybody Hurts- REM:
We all go through tough times, recommended song if you are going through tough times. Has a great meaning to it...just hang on in.

Suffocate- Cold:
I love the feeling to this song...you can relate to it even if you have experience what the song is saying.

Iris, Don't want to miss a thing and most of Meatloafs songs are very powerful and tell the stories so well.

Metallica - Enter Sandman. only recently aquired meaning, wa slistening to it as we hit the tree recently...

Black Sabbath - War Pigs. This song gets more contemporary political meaning every day, but without that it's still my favourite song. Everything that I like in music is there.

Don't Cry - Guns n Roses. A beautiful ballad, touches the heartstrings.

Black Sabbath - Sabbath Bloody Sabbath. This is more a personal joke me and a close friend have, but its got some memories.

Eminem - Lose Yourself. My first girlfriend was a huge eminem fan and the only song o could really listen to in her collection was Lose Yourself... so there's a few memoires behind it to be sure.
