nope your not, because the bottle shop can get fined for selling to someone over 18, who then gives it to someone under 18...

my mate has also been refused once because i was under 18...

was the only time i, or my mates, that this has happened too, that i know of...

I think they are meant to ask for ID if you look under 30...

I can remember once we went down to the bottle-o in our SCHOOL UNIFORM and they didnt ask for ID...lucky, because none of us had any, and most of us were underage anyway

my neighborhood 1 must b pretty slack then they dont give a rats unless u try 2 buy sumthin

lol first time i eva tried 2 buy alc i walked in and was having a good look around and the guy there didnt care that i was in there lookin around so i thought maybe he thought i was 18. so i tryd 2 buy sum vodka and he just lookd at me and said "ur not 18" and i (being the accumplishd negotiator that i am) said "neither r u". and he's all like "wot?" and i said sumthing along the lines of "ur not 18 eithr, ur like 20 or sumthing. but dus that mean that U cant buy alcomahol? no. u can buy as much as u want but u refuse 2 allow me 2 do the same. back in my day we were taught 2 luv thy neighboor, not 2 refuse them cold beverages". 2 which he said "u no u can get in deep **** 4 tryn 2 buy alcohol off me". unable 2 think of a comebak i just yelled "STOP UNDRESSING ME WITH UR EYES!" and walked off

EDIT: the above story never actually happend i just wanted 2 make a point and got creatively sidetracked cant remember wot the point i was tryin 2 make tho .....but thats wot i wud say if i got asked 4 ID

yeh i think its a fairly new law ????? You can't buy stuff if u have someone underage with you because they assume that you are buying it for them. We drove through a bottle shop one day and sat in the browsing section, the youngest looking guy got out and went to buy it (we were all underage) and the guy said i cant sell it to you cause your mates are over there and unless they all have id im not allowed. He said if they werent there i would sell it to you but my manager is here (we could see him) and i will get in trouble. I dont think alot of bottle shops care that much, i havent been asked for ID yet and im underage........

my friend goes in with a packet of smokes and just the $20 note or whatever and they assume cos shes holding smokes shes over 18 ahhaha, but yeah i've had that my friend was buying for me and they asked for ID for me and they wouldn't sell to him so i guess they knew... it'd be funny listening to the excuses and looking at bodgy ID's

Meh, I've been asked for ID a couple of times, but since I was about 14, I haven't had any problems at all.

As for drinks list:
as well as heaps of jim beam and johnny walker...

C*CK SUCKING COWBOYS!!!!!! ohhhhhh yeah They are sooooooo good, you get trashed soooooo quickly and it's only like $15 for a six pack...mmmmmmm

I'd say take your passport if you're 18. It's not much hassle so it'd be worth it just in case. Usually in australia you can use school ID for bottleos and maybe over18 gigs, but you need drivers licence, 18+ card, or passport for clubs etc.

Absolut is like $14 more expensive than Smirnoff so pretty steep, but it is by far the best stuff you can get at most bottle shops...

The ad you probably saw would have been the new Absolut Cut which is a pre-mix with sparkling flavoured waters or something...havent had em yet though.

Yeah i dont usually buy Absolut to take to parties but there is always a bottle sitting in my fridge...

Also those "vodka drinkers" who say it all tastes the same dont know what they're talking bout....it might be the slav blood but i know whats a good vodka and whats not....(smirnoff, kirov....crap:absolut, tsarevich....good)

I'm stuck in a similar situation as the original poster, I signed up to ask this question too...

3 Slabs of VB
2 Slabs of Woodstock
1 Slab of UDL

shared between 2 people, myself and a mate. Now, we're going for one week, anyone else think we need more?
