Default Class of 2009 schoolies pass with flying colours

Senior police in Rottnest Island and Dunsborough have praised the conduct of this year's schoolies during celebrations last week. And they were also quick to point out the strong cooperation between police and the various community groups at the schoolies hotspots.

Although it was only his second leavers campaign at the helm of the Rottnest police operations, Sergeant Peter Bahen said officers could not have been more happier with the way the teenage revellers celebrated the end of Year 12. "It was the best one we've had so far," he said. "They were great kids and they are to be congratulated.

"There were a few little hiccups but that was expected. There was good management and planning and resource management between all the major players. And we couldn't have done this without their cooperation and they're to be congratulated also." ...continued.
