Basically every year at Schoolies there are a few songs, some years one song that really stands out as 'The Schoolies Anthem' or anthem for 'the class of.'
Not really sure where we ended up last year, but I guess it goes to show that the concept of a Schoolies Song for 05 may be more of an anthem for a group of friends or for a school, not always for the whole of schoolies that year. Guess it depends on what your taste in music is too.
It is a bit early in the year to pick it, but maybe in the next month a song or two will be released that holds till November as something that really resonates or represents or has meaning for you and your crew.

Oh my God. By far Nirvana's most over rated song. possibly the most over rated song ever. there are so many better Nirvana songs. Oh and the remix almost made me vomit. no offence to everyone of course.

smell's like teen spirit is uplifting??? might get you amped but i wouldnt say its uplifting with the way Kurt sings it. Arent you sick of that song? even Nirvana started hating it, during sets they begin to play it, the crowd would go nuts then theyd stop and start a new song. what a bunch a legends. i also liked when they played on that UK show Top of the Pops of something and because all the music is recorded and theyre not really playing their instruments they just started hell messing around but the teeny boppers in the crowd didnt understand. and kurt sung it hell slow aswell, just sounded worse than usual. legends.
ok off topic. well not really but sorta.
i gotta say that the anthem of 2005 should be a new song though. dont get me wrong, i love older music much more but i think thats the reason for choosing one. coz the older ones, specially smells like teen spirit definately wouldve been chosen before.

As punishment for their **** suggestions, we all now have to try n keep a straight face walkin into valedictory/graduation night to "Circle of Life" off the lion king (yes...WITH the jungle style intro bit) and walk out to "We Are Family" by Sister Sledge.
The Teachers think we're serious, half the year think we're legends, and half the year have no sense of humour/have to wallow in self pitty having not given any good suggestions themselves

at our school we had a list on the notice board where everyone could put down the songs they thought should be played at our final assembly. as with this post, a whole bunch of people put down a whole bunch of **** songs, with only a few decent ones. i put down schools out by alice cooper, another brick in the wall by pink floyd (NOT korn), hot for teacher by van halen, etc. schools out was the song we sung. we rock! but we probably could have picked somethin better... i just couldnt think of anythin.

Awesome, I was just about to ask what the popular songs played in clubs at schoolies were. Are you actually going to mix the songs?
