Life After SchoolBen 03-02-2005, 07:42 PM life after school? it sucks...i miss chilling in school with good mates. soooo good. Baker 04-02-2005, 01:30 PM yea im very bored a lot of the time, and im like the last to turn 18... but i start TAFE tuesday next week!, w00t w00t! ruddmj 24-05-2005, 07:40 PM Aww Baker i know EXACTLY how you feel, im born in December and im not 18 until the end of next year....oh joy! Whatever 15-08-2005, 05:28 PM Your in year 12 and not 18 til next december? Woody 15-08-2005, 06:16 PM Youve got another December-ian here! It does suck, none of the fun things, like going out with mates on the weekend and what-not. When you finally do turn 18, schools over and everyones off doing their own thing. Yea, and life after school is gonna be kinda sucky. Ive got one good mate whos moving up to qld. The rest are shooting off to uni. Its only me and my mate from up the road taking a year off. Boy are we going to have some good times though - going up to the school and chilling in class/hanging around where we do this year, still claiming our teritory:p Sammy Wammy 15-08-2005, 11:31 PM ruddmj is only 16!! You little youngen you :p Chaotic_stelly_girl 16-08-2005, 10:58 PM Is 16 young? :givemebee (haha, random) The_Plague 07-09-2005, 10:47 PM I dont know about life after school sucking, its just different really. School represents a time of your life you can never have again, almost a utopian existence, sure moneys tight for students, but there was still pleasures aplenty. I remember it, looking back it was mad, especially year 12, what a bludge that was. oooohhh, yeah. I was lucky enough to know it wouldn't happen again so I took full advantage of it while it was happening, I encourage everyone I talk to, encourage them to embrace there senior uears that is, just roll with it. It was kind of surreal actually, looking back. It got even better when some of us had free periods (I remember scoring 12 of those per week, ooohhh yeah), and the strat time was moving back and back and back. It was get up in the morning, shake off the hangover, get dressed, go out and start up the torana, head off to school giving my sis and some friends a lift, every morning I'd screech the ****e out of the tyres at this one stop sign for 2 years solid. Rock up at school, attend some classes, head to the pub in free periods for games of pool. It was defintely a surreal experience and I am very glad I had it, sure life is very different now and priorities change, but when you are young, different things seem important. Like the fact I drove a car with a 120l fuel tank and gigantic thumping V8 engine, back in the good days we had lead in our petrol and it cost a lot elss thana dollar a litre to get it, sure looking back it was nowhere near practical for a student, it chewed 40 litres per 100km, but there was no greater symbol of status in that time. Women, in school you never had to put much effort in to get "along well" with one, in the real word, it takes a lot more time to get together in the altogether, a part that I defintely miss about school, you dont really find that many easy to contact sexy women floating around the workplace who want to "go for a ride in your car and talk", lol. If you are still there, enjoy it while you have it, looking back I definitely wasted my educational potential, mainly because I had no intention of going to uni anyways, but I had a ****ing good time wasting it, not many people in our year can say they had a blast for 2 solid years, missed most the classes, got tanked most nights at parties and still find themselves in extremely well paying jobs that enable them to spend more time off than at work and keep on heading to schoolies can they? fate deals strange things to us all, so run with it kids, just run with it kymbo28 18-09-2005, 02:07 PM Sux being born in december. like 15 days away from schoolies. but atleast victor doesnt have night clubs and you can just chill out wherever you want. ronsenior 03-11-2005, 04:16 PM I got a few days off till exams and man, I'm bored already. How often do those of you that left school see your school mates this year? Is it every week (or close to) like this year or is it rarely at all? futurenurse 06-11-2005, 11:35 PM I am 23 years old, and almost ready to graduate uni.... and....Most of my friends are married and have degress of their own and are therfore teachers, accountants or have other grown up type jobs. So enjoy your close friendships while you can over the next few years coz once life throws them around in weired ways you'll be finding new ones before you know it! I am still close with one out of about 15 mates I had in high school...and i only see her every 3 months... don't know if that happens to everyone...but it did for me :-( Woody 14-11-2005, 04:54 PM Wooh, I finished my exams on Thursday - Its a good feeling - But you do miss the times where you just chill out at school with everyone together....Oh well - Theres a few of us that live close together...on wednesday were making a "Super-Sammich" Awesome times. Life after school would be awesome if I was 18, and had my P's - I'd be driving to Maccas for lunch, and going out at night - instead, I CBF walking, and just havedry noodles for lunch, and sit here at my computer of a night....but hey - It beats doing other stuff.... bendertiger 06-06-2006, 02:07 PM School was nothing but sheer absolute hell, they say school is the best years of your life :rotfl: It's all going to be over soon, (btw, I've left school already) gnome 06-06-2006, 03:34 PM i miss school allready, i allways knew it was good still uni is pretty cool Sammy Wammy 06-06-2006, 05:27 PM Yeah i miss school and huge house parties :( I has 2 18ths on the weekend (people who were in my year level last year, yes, they are very young ones), one friday, one saturday and it was so good jut sitting around chilling and catching up with everyone in someones backyard haha.. whenever we go out its always loud and everything and you cant have convos and such, and it was just great talking with everything and talking about memories from back in year 7 and stuff. so good seeing people that you dont really. surfa_Sair 07-06-2006, 02:43 PM Ive been working for 5years now because i left in yr10.. school was so god damn easy to the real world.. i loved so******ing at school and seeing everybody! but you eventually have to grow up and take on some responsibilty so i guess everyone has to go thru it... i just have a phobia about getting older haha.. and school seemed so fun.. now working its poo :( So true sammy.. ive been to a few 21sts recently where everyone i havnt seen for a while from back in school were there.. we looked bak on it all and it was fkn hilarious.. good times :) Also its been a few years since ive left and im still best friends with the same ppl i hung out with.. we have an even bigger group now but ppl from the same area its awsome and still meeting so many more ppl out! But ive stayed friends with everyone bar about 2ppl.. but alot of other groups hav split up etc.. gnome 07-06-2006, 07:14 PM but you eventually have to grow up and take on some responsibilty so i guess everyone has to go thru it... ur right u cant stay a kid for ever but theres no harm in trying!:p surfa_Sair 08-06-2006, 10:30 AM being a kid is funnnn ;) you just need to be mature when you have to be! having fun is the main thing though haha Gestapo pussy ranch 20-06-2006, 08:45 PM I miss school so so so much. Honest to God any seniors who read this live it up for the next 6 months becasue it is the greatest time of your lives and you will miss it heaps after you leave. Nowhere else do you get to see your mates everyday, muck around, and have the same atmosphere as school. Uni is barley like school at all, you can have some good times but nowhere near as fun as school. In closing STAY AS LONG AS YOU CAN. I have 2 regrets, not taking enough photos, and not repeating grade 12. mc68 20-06-2006, 09:37 PM i regret leaving after yr 11...never having a senior dance, and not being able to go to leavers due to work...now people who have been out of school for 6 months are getting triple the money i am...dont do an apprenticeship unless you are really keen... i miss school so so so so much! Andyy 21-06-2006, 02:56 AM im prob gonna say it wrong, but ill say it anyways Some dude in some place at some time said "Growing old is inevitable, growing up is a choice" surfa_Sair 21-06-2006, 05:03 PM I know ppl who left school in yr10 and hav the BEST jobs awsome money.. and some ppl who did year12 and hav $hit jobs and can't get anything coz they hav no experience.. And also vice versa... Sometimes its not what you know but who u know.. yr12 doesnt always help and alot of the times it does! also apprenticeships can be great.. my bf did one and hes on the BEST money now.. hes raking it in..and u can start ur own business.. it just usually starts out $hitty! stickbug 10-07-2006, 08:14 PM i cant wait to leave skool, im goin straight into the RAAF, my older brother went in 4 yrs ago and he is lovin it and hes on a awsome wage for a 23 yr old. and i figure that if my brother can handle the basic trainnin they put you through then so can i... Woody 11-07-2006, 02:12 PM School was pretty cool - But this year has been awesome - Taking a year off, Drinking, Drinking, Drinking... Seeing Mates, Drinking. Working occasionally, but mainly drinking. Oh, and sleeping in! I highly recommend it Cait 11-08-2006, 02:01 PM Yeah i left at the end of year 11 and im really glad i did, like i really miss the whole so******ing aspect but ahha thats the only reason i was going to finish year 12, and then i got a really really good job offer and has worked out to be the best thing ive done, well in a while. Year 11 was the best year tho so im glad it all finished well, we won rock eisteddfod and it was a really cruisy year, and i got to go to our year 12 ball aswell :p lol. I have to agree with Surfa_sair about not taking enough photos :( thats the only regret. xOxOx "...take too many photos, laugh too hard, have too much fun..." (new moto :p) |
