underage advice!

So, I'm a Queensland schoolie, so this means when you graduate you're only 17 (unless you've been kept down). Anyway, I'm visiting Byron Bay from the 21st of Nov to the 28th with 4 of my mates. We're all underage for this time period (my friend is 18 the week after).

So, we all want to drink, our parents are fine with us drinking, one of the mums even lives near Byron and can get us all the grog, and the same friend knows some people that will be over 18. Now, I just need to know how we get drinks into our accom (we're staying at a backpackers place (hahahahah)) and, what the hell can we actually do... any ideas on how to get into clubs? We're all pretty easy going people, it's not like we want to be trashed. Alcohol is just good :)

help would be nice, please :)

Head to the beach at byron, try and meet up with other schoolies, but forget the clubs they are right on to checking ID especially during schoolies.

ahh. really want help with this too, if we're staying at the sunshine coast, in the 2nd week and it's a self contained unit with an 18year old in it. we have no glass, drugs ect. just cans and plastic bottles.
1. can they check our bags as we come in.
2. can they check our rooms for alcohol, and will they care if it is all seemingly owned by the 18 year old?
