Don't even get me started on how much I hate bands like Linken Park and co.
Being a metal fan myself, I mean ACTUAL metal (Opeth, Emperor, Nile, SYL etc, not to mention the 100s of amazing underground metal bands most people have never even heard of) this type of nu-metal/ rapmetal (or whatever the **** you want to call this generic mainstream bull****) is part of the commerical disease that is destroying good music. And this (along with all those other mallcore trendy fag bands like Korn, Slipknot, Limp Bizket etc) is what people call metal? THEY'RE THE ****ING BACKSTREET BOYS WITH GUITARS MAN!. There's no soul in it, no emotion ( and no, it's not the same as yet another faggit genre, emo) no atmosphere, no brutality, IT'S NOT ****ING METAL YOU DUMB C*NTS.
Metal isn't about what brand shoes you wear, it's the actual music that matters, but people don't seem to get that.

I have to say that korns first album was very good, but then they got ****

the bottom line is what the majority of people think metal is isnot really metal
actuall metal is hard to find for someone who listens to the pop stuff.

The radios label **** like linkin park, limpbizkit, the darkness (B105 host labeled then as "the new metal band from europe" on their hot 30 show when i had to listen to it at work) and evenescene as metal

I my self about 3 years ago when i was not enlightened my metal thought that was actually metal
But now being into the metal genre, i realise this 'pop-metal' is just absoute ****. Musically, lyrical, everthingly.

For anyone who thinks that that is metal then i dont really blame u, but rather the **** radio stations and record companies

dont even try to label anything as metal untill u have heard actual metal. And if u want actual metal, the go to allmusic.com and search inflames, opeth and slayer for a start

Sorry dave but i gota disagree, and i listen to all kinds of metal too haha so yeh, i agree there is alot of **** out there being labels as metal where it is not but i like some numetal because i like the rythym and sumtimes some "real metal" lyrics are jsut a bit too much for me (e.g. canable corpse, deicide etc.) altough their musical talent is brilliant, just dont think death is a good thing to sing about, but yeh u get that, everyones entitled to thier opinions. For me though id rather death metal then punk:P :headbang: punk isnt what it used to be, not that i ever liked it ;) no offence ppls oh by the way david do u like caliban! they are fkin mad! :headbang:

well all in all i dont mind what people listen to...

everyone likes different music...

they are still the same people...

lol i dont kno how many times ive dicussed "real metal", and "real punk"...

but in the end no one wins...

Everybody is free to listen to what ever they want to,
I just get annoyed when poeple (eg radio host on popular radio stations eg B105) try to label stuff or talk about stuff which they do not know
