i think that i would wish for a sharp knife or machette, i think that oh yeah a hot brazzillian girl would be nice but in all honesty if you were on a deserted island would you really want a female with you, i mean yeah ok you could get a few good roots with her fora few days but then what? DIE. yeah i suppose lots of people would wish for that and yes you would die happy i suppose! but this time i think i would go with a sharp knife or machette.

With this instrumentt i could begin harnessing the islands natural resources, i could cut of palm frons and make a hut , i could find rocks and cut them in half and therefore make even more untensils that could be useful.

I could find fruits like banannas in the trees and depending on what type of deserted island i was on, i could catch and kill terrestrial and aquatic life, such as fish and feral pigs and lizards, hell if i was on the galapagos islands i could even kill tortoises and eat them.

i suppose the next question you have to ask yourself is how do i get fire, although it is extremely hard to make fire, as we all rely on a safty match today. it still is possible to make fire with a sharp knife blade. this deserted island might have natural flint rock reserves on it, if this was the case then your in luck as you could make fire extremely easy.

so now that you have the basics out of the way you can now begin to try and signal for help, i know it is a bit farfetched but with a knife you could use it as a mirror and signal boat or low lying planes, obviously if i had the choice of 1 thing to take on the island i would just say 1 fully charged iridium class global mobile phone so i could call anyone in the world from where i was as these phones use the 70 or so iridium class satelittes that are in orbit. but obviously you didnt want a simple answer like a phone, that is why i said the knife

the knife is so versatile and as you can see it is very important to how you could survive on the desert island, also 1 more thing is that if all else fails you could stab your self in the heart with the knife and you would be dead fast. not die a painfully slow death where your organs slowly shut down.

oh ok, if i was 'alone' on a 'deserted island'. i mustnt of read that part properly cause here i was thinking there was all these niteclubs on this island with 1000's of people and a maccas on every corner :rolleyes:

If i was on a desert island alone and a genie bottle washed up on shore after being asked what would my first wish be (out of three) I would firstly wish for infinite more wishes... after that i would then say... 1) to have a mansion built in the nicest palce on the island with my family and friends waiting for me inside... 2) i would wish for a small private airstrip and a small plane that i could fly to main land when ever i wanted to 3) a tropical smimming pool with about 10 water slides.. then maybe 4) a feast in my masion with my family and mates... then i'd use the rest of of wishes on a rainy day when i'm bored and its too cold to swim in my pool....go on all my water slides and to wet to fly my plane....... wat do you think???
