legend23 17-11-2004, 05:14 PM Hey Everyone,
I want you all to have a great time @ Schoolies this year!!!
BUT be aware there are a lot of people out there who want to crash your party.
Enjoy yourselves sensibly.
Stay with friends - Don't go alone anywhere(even guys).
Watch your drinks. Drink spiking will be a problem this year. If you quickly become excessively sick or dizzy, you may be a victim, call 000. Also avoid mixing drugs and alcohol(as much as possible).
Also make sure you eat as normally as you can and DRINK HEAPS OF WATER!!!
These are just a few suggestions. Bits and pieces I have seen over the last few years.
I am working with Hotel Chaplains again this year. They provide multiple services, e.g. counselling, support, mediation, party planning, some cooking & cleaning assistance(if you ask nice).
If you need any HELP/SUPPORT @ Schoolies call the Hotel Chaplaincy Hotline.
HC Hotline 1300 557 123.
You'll probably see Hotel Chaplains everywhere next week.
They're great and they have Red Frogs.

The HCs i meet were cool, and they helped out my friends.
There are bad eggs in every crowd, we are all human

Dominic 17-11-2004, 06:30 PM Hi legend23, welcome to the forums great to hear you are sticking at volunteering year after year ;) . You must get a lot out of it...
Please check with HC Headquarters about what they want posted in the forums as I'm sure they have a plan for what info they wish to announce, how, and who speaks on their behalf. Should be no drama and you are of course welcome here.
As the moderator suggested, please intro yourself in the new members section of the forums so we can all find out who you are.

Dominic 10-12-2004, 01:00 PM No - the security are just security.
Hotel Chaplains have surfie looking brown shirts that have HC on them. The were around surfers and staying in hotels.

legend23 14-12-2004, 05:04 PM designated_drinker,
If you were up for Interstate Schoolies(2nd week) then coverage was limited as we only had about 60 HCs who were going flat out. Qld schoolies we had over 500, so if you didn't see them you would have been in the minority.
We try to get to all schoolies rooms at sometime during the week just to make sure all is good.
I gave out the hotline number so that if anyone needed help or frogs they could call. There will be a lot more education happening next year.
Have a good one!!! :facesjump
Dominic 07-06-2005, 06:06 AM I got another email slamming the red frog people.
So for anyone else thinking of emailing me on this:
1. Don't email me, we are not 'the red frog people' - the group is called 'Hotel Chaplains.'
2. If you have a complaint, I know that the manager of Hotel Chaplaincy will welcome the feedback, but as with any organisation that has a number of volunteers or staff will want to know which person in particular you encountered.
3. If you want to post your comments or your opinion in the forum, it's an open forum passing info from one grad class to the other, so post away.
4. Forum members should appreciate that a bad experience with a few people from one volunteer group, or company for that matter, is a bad experience with those individuals... the entire group is not to blame. I'm not defending anyone, just making an important distinction.
5. From the comments I have recieved I don't understand why you didn't just tell them to get out of your room and call hotel security, like you can on anyone that doesn't leave your room when you ask. And if you don't want them in there in the first place... don't let them in!
