Schoolies Bracelets

Does anyone know what the deal is with the bracelets? How strict are they really? what happens if you dont have one on you, or if you're stayin at a friends place at surfer's or something?

The tags they had last year were hard to get off (you needed a knife or sissors) and water proof. But if it did break or you cut if off it's no problem to get another.

As for how strict depends on whos there and what mood they are in and what think of you, you might get on the games/rides but wont get any of the free stuff.

lol that sux if they are hard to get off coz i gota take mine off so manager doesnt know im a skoolie for my apartments :mad: grrr i wonder if we can just keep getting them?

yeah, i would keep giving you them :), just pick someone that looks nice or choise diffrent people each day.

Just use your teath, or see of the many surport ppls tents on the strip, most would have somthing to chop it off.

FYI - the bracelets aren't anything exciting except they let those around you know that YOU are a schoolie. You don't have to have them for anything.

The thing is that toolies can't get them, so support groups and police can easily identify them.

I am doing my 4th GC Schoolies as a support team person - All I have to say is stay together. Don't do anything alone day or night.

easy, ask any voluneter. It will be really obvious when you get there. We just check your school id and write down your name, and you get a tag.

yeah, but here's my situation: i left school towards the end of the third term of year 11 (which was last year, and would be for most of you other leavers). But i still consider myself a part of the 'leavers crowd' considering HAD i stayed at school, i too would be finnishing my last year of school this year as well.. So how the hell am i supposed to display my 'student-status'? does a student card from CentralTAFE count?

Um, I don't think you'd be able to get a bracelet from them without your school id since its really only for yr 12 leavers. But it would probably be easy for you to ask a school friend to give you theirs and they could get a new one...... Actually on second thoughts, im not sure.. would u be able to put it back on? Maybe you could sticky tape it on but I really dont think its that important to have one. I'm sure you'll manage fine without one.

The bracelets they give you are pretty much identical to the ones you get when you go to hospital.

They are a very thich and durable plastic and they kind off lock into place, so therefore making them impossible to take off unless they are cut off, therefore making them useless.

I remember trying to rip mine off last year when i had to go to hospital for major abdominaL surgery, but i can tell you now the only way to get them off is to cut them, that is if they are the same design as the hospital ones.

they were designed like that so that patients couldnt take them off. i still kept mine from hostpital as a memento.

Whats the dealio with these bracelet things? To be honest, i really got no idea whats goin on. But i got the same problemo with the ID, my school id has last years date on it, even though i graduated this year. It's confusing.

well .... this is prob gonna see kinda dum an all BUT is the whole bracelet thing like all schoolies nation wide?? or just like not w.a or .... ?? cause yeh - i was just wondering :confused:
