We always have the media ringing us about Schoolies, wanting to know about something that has happened or our perspective on various issues.
It is one thing for us to make comment as a service that provides support to young people during Schoolies, but they always ask 'what are the young people thinking / feeling about x ,y, & z.' I can't answer that but maybe you can!
If you are willing to be interviewed by the media - may be radio, may be print, may be TV. Please email me (dominic dot mapstone at gmail dot com) with your phone number.
What would happen is I would give you the info about the story and you could decide if you wanted to be interviewed. Then I would give you the journalist's contact details so you can call them, rather than give your contact details out to anyone. (If you don't want to use your real name or say where you go to school thats fine, but you must be a genuine 2004 Schoolie).
I want to have your contact details on file to get in touch with you at some point leading up to Schoolies, during Schoolies or just after.
Right now though, by Monday morning I am hoping to find a male and a female going to Gold Coast Schoolies this year to participate in a discussion on ABC radio Monday morning sometime between 8.30am and 10am.
If you are interested in finding our more please email me asap.
